When being a messenger overshadows the Message.

Richard Roberts, former president of ORU and leader of the Oral Roberts Ministries was arrested for DUI last night.

When does the ministry stop being a ministry and become a business?  When do we become money changers in the temple instead of disciples of Christ?  I think it is a danger for all who preach the Word that lose touch with why we are doing it.

I think it is especially hard for large ministry organizations because in order to continue to be successful in spreading the Word, they need to become cash generating machines. The more successful the ministry becomes, the more funds that are needed to run it.

I think that it is the just nature of large organizations to mutate into something that their founders never intended.  They lose focus and become lost.

We need to pray for Brother Roberts and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to him and his family and allow him to find his path.

Caleb’s (JC) Mission Trip to Los Angeles.

Caleb chilling at O'Hare at the United terminal.

Well, Caleb’s (he prefers JC) mission trip is going well.  Of course, I think it is rougher on his mother than it is with him!  They have been to Hollywood, the beach and Skid Row (where over 130 people were saved!)  Looking forward to seeing him early Sunday morning!
